Miranda adds some extra colours to the Milo Max experience. From
music school to the stage she brings her many instruments, professionalism
and cheeky bubbly personality.

2011: Miranda was recently nominated for a
Spirit of London award for achievement through music, making the
final 3 out of 5000 nominations. For this she met David Cameron
as well as having a video shown to a 4000 strong crowd including
VIP guests at the Royal Albert Hall.
Beginnings
Miranda first picked up a flute at age 11,
with sax shortly following. Her love of performing came from playing
gigs with her band Juggla Heroes from 2004 – 2006, it gave
her the chance to experiment with sounds and gain a grasp of extended
techniques and improvisation. She was also helped by the producer
Ben Startup who gave her the chance to play with House and Drum
and Bass music for the first time, leading to recordings with
the Tali Trow Collective in which she featured on two albums.
In 2009 she graduated from the University of
Leeds in Popular and World Musics, studying with Jennifer George.
Miranda has been a member of the Camden Light Orchestra, show
pit bands in the North East, 21st century groups, Cuban Charanga
bands, and her own band MindFunk. In the band MindFunk Miranda
was the lead singer, flautist and saxophonist gigging regularly
around the North East area and also featuring in local recitals.

2009: Performing in Northern Queensland as
part of the Mal Hamilton Collective
2010: Featured artist performing at the Lewisham Sampler Festival
as part of their Guerrilla Gig series.
2010 – Current: Flautist and backing
singer of the live band for rapper Fuse ODG
July 2011 In the running for the final of the London Underground
Busking Competition, recently featured on BBC China and is now
filmed regularly flute beatboxing by Buskers Tales. http://www.buskertales.com/
Miranda also teaches in London and is also the Jazz Corner Editor
for the British Flute Society website.
